Hobbs nobbed on Trim
I haven't been watching Eddie Hobbs's new show Rip Off Republic, but it looks like plenty of other people have. This morning the Examiner reported that Tim O'Malley, junior minister at the Department of Health, had labelled the programme as "creative bankruptcy" and claimed its line echoed that of Fine Gael's ripoff.ie website. O'Malley went on to say that the PDs would be making a complaint to the RTE authority.

Now Sarah Carey reckons she's caught Hobbs telling porkies. In a show on Trim, he claimed a petition forced the County Council to change its mind on planning permission. According to Carey, An Bord Pleanala was actually the one to grant the permission. What's more, Hobbs said 5,000 people in a town of 7,000 signed the petition. Carey says she spoke to the man who actually has the petition and he says the number amounts to no more than 600 or 700 signatures.
